The ignition system makes ignition of a fuel mix in engine cylinders at a given time depending on engine and loading turns. On cars various types of systems of ignition are established many.
The ignition system eats from an onboard network of the car. In the coil of ignition pressure of an onboard network of the car will be transformed to a high voltage. The high voltage is used for spark formation between electrodes of spark plugs in engine cylinders in a compression step. The low voltage chain, or a primary chain, consists of electroconducting which connects the accumulator, the ignition lock, a primary winding of the coil of ignition, the breaker and the condenser. The high voltage chain, or a secondary chain, consists of a high-voltage winding of the coil of ignition, the central high-voltage wire, the distributor of ignition, a rotor of the distributor, high-voltage wires of spark plugs and spark plugs.
The ignition coil will transform a faltering current of a low voltage (+12) to a power-current for breakdown of an air backlash between electrodes of spark plugs. The ignition coil represents the transformer with opened магнитопроводом which consists of the internal core and external ring магнитопровода. The secondary winding having a great number of coils, is reeled up round the core. The primary winding with smaller number of coils is reeled up over the secondary.
The ignition system works as follows. At pressure giving on a primary winding of the coil of ignition in the ignition coil there is a magnetic field. For inclusion and deenergizing of the pressure submitted to a primary winding of the coil of ignition, the electronic block is used.
At pressure deenergizing on a primary winding of the coil of ignition the magnetic field power failure in a secondary winding generates a high voltage which through the ignition distributor moves to a candle of the corresponding cylinder. Then pressure again moves to a primary winding of the coil of ignition therefore the magnetic field increases also a cycle repeats for high voltage giving to the following spark plug.
The corner of an advancing of ignition is set by the distributor and corrected centrifugal and vacuum by regulators. The centrifugal regulator consists of two грузиков which at increase in turns of the engine under the influence of centrifugal force disperse from a distributor shaft. Dispersing, грузики turn a cogwheel concerning a distributor shaft, and the moment of ignition depending on engine turns thus is corrected. The divergence size грузиков is defined by effort of returnable springs.
The vacuum regulator fixed on the case of the distributor of ignition, consists of the diaphragm block. To one party of a diaphragm depression from the carburettor moves through a hose. Other party of a diaphragm is connected by draught with the ignition distributor. Under the influence of depression the diaphragm is bent and through draught turns a basic plate against a direction of rotation of a shaft of the distributor and as a result it the corner of an advancing of ignition depending on engine loading is corrected.
Safety measures
At performance of works on electric system not to damage semi-conductor devices (diodes and transistors), is necessary to fulfil following requirements:
– In an operating time of the engine do not disconnect the accumulator, the generator of an alternating current or any electric sockets;
– At carrying out of any works remove the negative plug from the accumulator;
– At carrying out of electrowelding works on the car disconnect the generator of an alternating current and the electronic control device;
– Do not suppose work of the engine with the generator disconnected from electric system;
– Do not check working capacity of the generator, closing its target contacts on weight.
