8.2.5. Removal, check and installation of the coil of ignition

Removal and installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a wire of weight from the accumulator.
2. Mark and disconnect low-voltage electric sockets from the ignition coil.
3. Disconnect a high-voltage wire from the ignition coil.
4. If necessary also disconnect an electric socket from the ignition block.
5. Unscrew bolts and remove the ignition coil together with an arm from the car.
6. If necessary unscrew the screw and remove the coil of ignition from an arm.
7. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.

Check

For check of the coil of ignition it is necessary to use an ohmmeter.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check up integrity of a primary winding of the coil of ignition, connecting an ohmmeter to positive and negative plugs of the coil of ignition.
2. Integrity of a secondary winding of the coil of ignition can be checked up, connecting an ohmmeter to the positive plug of a primary winding and to the high-voltage plug.

The prevention

Keep in mind that in the ignition coil is available on two sets of windings.

3. Check up that there is no connection between the high-voltage plug and the case of the coil of ignition.
