THE GENERAL DATA

The transmission represents very difficult unit and its repair it is necessary to make in a specialised workshop. Also at removal and installation of many details it is necessary to measure backlashes and, if necessary, to adjust them for what use of corresponding adjusting linings and washers is necessary. Not only that transmission details are absent on sale and they are necessary for ordering, they are still extremely expensive. If the transmission is faulty or works with strong noise, it is desirable to charge transmission repair to the expert or to replace a transmission that can cost cheaper considerably. However the part of malfunctions of a transmission can be eliminated without removal of a transmission from the car.

However, despite all complexities, the skilled expert can make repair of a transmission and in house conditions. Thus it is necessary to have special tools and to perform work consistently, step by step marking the executed operations. At transmission repair it is necessary to use special flat-nose pliers for removal of lock rings, strippers for bearings, an inertial hammer, a set of punches, a micrometer and a hydraulic press.
