11.16. Check, removal and installation of the vacuum amplifier of brakes
THE GENERAL DATA

The vacuum amplifier of brakes reduces effort to a brake pedal, facilitating thereby driving. Work of the vacuum amplifier of brakes is based on depression use in an inlet collector. At an exit of the vacuum amplifier out of operation working capacity of brake system is not broken, but for pressing of a pedal of a brake it is necessary to apply considerably большее effort.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Press a brake pedal some times at the idle engine to create in cavities of the vacuum amplifier identical pressure close to the atmospheric.
2. Simultaneously on the effort put to a pedal, define, whether there is no jamming of the case of the valve.
3. Stop a pedal of a brake in the middle of its course and start the engine.
4. At the serviceable vacuum amplifier the pedal of a brake after engine start should leave forward.
5. If the pedal does not leave forward, check up fastening of a tip of a hose, connection of fastening of a flange of a tip in the amplifier, a hose and union condition.
6. On cars with diesel engines check up working capacity of the vacuum pump.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Cars for right-hand movement
1. Disconnect a vacuum hose from the vacuum amplifier of brakes.
2. Unscrew nuts, fastening the main brake cylinder to the vacuum amplifier of brakes.
3. Remove the main brake cylinder from racks of the vacuum amplifier of brakes and move forward, without deforming thus brake tubes.
4. In car salon remove the switch of stoplights from an arm of a pedal of a brake.
5. Remove spring скобу with шарнирного a finger, крепящего a plug of a pusher of the vacuum amplifier of brakes to a brake pedal.
6. Remove шарнирный a finger.
7. Remove обтекатель, located in the bottom part of a windscreen, then remove screen wiper levers, the engine and draughts of a screen wiper.
8. Remove two заглушки, closing bolts of fastening of the vacuum amplifier of brakes.
9. Using a face key, unscrew bolts and remove the vacuum amplifier from a partition of a motor compartment.
10. If access to bolts of fastening of the vacuum amplifier is complicated, it is possible to unscrew four nuts of fastening of an arm of the vacuum amplifier to a partition of a motor compartment.
11. Remove the vacuum amplifier of brakes from the car.
Cars for link sided movement
12. Operations on removal of the vacuum amplifier of brakes are similar stated above.
13. Turn off three nuts of fastening of the vacuum amplifier of brakes on cars with link sided movement.
14. For access to the bottom nut of fastening of the vacuum amplifier without removal of steering transfer it is necessary to use a key with adapters.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. At installation of the new vacuum amplifier of brakes rearrange on it with old a collar and a counternut.
2. Before installation of the vacuum amplifier of brakes check up length of a rod with a plug.
3. Measure distance And from an end face of the case of the vacuum amplifier of brakes to the aperture centre in a plug which should make 278,5 mm.
4. The further installation is made in sequence, return to removal taking into account following moments.
5. If the vacuum amplifier of brakes acted in film from an arm, establish it on hermetic.
6. Check up that the place for connection of a vacuum hose (it is specified by an arrow) is in demanded position.
7. For fastening use new самоконтрящиеся nuts.
